Equipped with restroom and within easy access to downtown parking and to a large selection of food and beverages, the Royal Grandstand is available for all Orleans parades, from February 21, 2025 thru Mardi Gras Day.
The Legion of Mars is the only parade with a membership comprised of Active Duty and Veteran Military and First Responders.
The Krewe of Choctaw's motif was inspired by a wooden Indian housed at the political association's headquarters on St. Charles Avenue. Under the sponsorship of the Old Reliable Pleasure Club, the krewe pays tribute to the early Native-American settlers of Louisiana with its annual ball, the "Big Pow-Wow." Choctaw's king, queen, pages, and laddies-in-waiting are known as chief, princess, papooses, and Indian maidens, respectively.
The Krewe of Freret is a New Orleans based co-ed krewe that with a focus on preserving Mardi Gras tradition, supporting local businesses and conducting service events that benefit the city. The resurgence of Krewe Of Freret started in 2011 with seven Loyola graduates who “lamented the notion of squandering hard earned money to join a formal krewe where they knew virtually no one and would have limited input.” Instead of joining an existing krewe, they decided to form their own and provide New Orleans with a world class Mardi Gras parade.
